Padding is the difference between a seat you use and a seat you tolerate. This one is padded across the seat, the backrest and both arms, in a water-resistant material that wipes down rather than soaking up the shower.

The seat pivots a full circle on an aluminium disc bearing and locks at four positions, a quarter turn apart. So you can face the door to sit down, click round to face the water, and know the seat is holding that position rather than turning under you.

The armrests are the other half of the design. Either one lifts straight up with one hand, which opens the side of the chair completely — you slide across into it instead of lowering yourself down past a fixed arm. Put the arm back down and you have something solid to push up from.

Five height levels take the seat from 17.91 to 21.85 inches on a 19 by 19 inch footprint, and the frame is rust-resistant aluminium rated to 400 lb.

It is the heaviest and widest chair of the group, and it is priced that way. If your enclosure is tight or you only need a plain seat, one of the simpler chairs will serve you better.

A full 360°, on an aluminium disc bearing, locking at four positions a quarter turn apart. Face the door to sit down, click round to face the water, and the seat holds that position.

Either arm raises with one hand, which opens the whole side of the chair. You slide across into the seat rather than lowering yourself down past a fixed arm — then drop the arm back for something solid to push up from.

Five levels from 17.91" to 21.85" of seat height; overall height runs 31.3" to 35.24".

A 19" x 19" footprint, with a 16.14" x 13.19" seat and a 17.32" backrest. It is the widest chair in this range — worth measuring your enclosure before ordering.

No. The seat, backrest and arms are padded in a water-resistant material that wipes down, rather than fabric that stays damp.

The arms lift and lower rather than coming away, which is what keeps them solid enough to push up from. If you want a chair whose arms detach completely, one of the lighter frames is a better fit.

Free U.S. shipping and a 30-day return window, so you can try the turn and the arm height at home.
