Bathtubs are not a standard width, which is why so many shower chairs almost fit. This one has a seat that slides wider or narrower — 16 inches up to 21.2 — so you set it to your bathroom rather than working around it.

The seat is split into two halves with a U-shaped gap at the front. That gap is there for washing without standing back up, and it also means water never pools in the middle of the seat.

Underneath, the frame is 1.2 mm aluminium with a cross-brace between the legs, which is what stops the sideways sway you get from a plain four-leg chair. It is rated to 330 lb and the whole chair only weighs 7.6 lb, so moving it in and out of the tub is a one-handed job.
